The Objective
Support a group of technical leaders to deliver talks about their project insights, innovation and learning – for their annual leadership conference.
The Challenge
Although they had all successfully delivered their projects, the extraction and articulation of learnings, impact and innovation from these projects, in the form of inspiring short talk, was new to them. In additional to this, there was lots of cross overs in the themes of their work – and therefore it was essential for them to clarify what made their insights unique, and delivered without technical jargon. The group was based internationally, some English not their first language, and all with busy schedules.

The Solution
I designed and delivered a 5x 2hr session group online programme, which gave them the opportunity to explore, extract, refine and condense the innovative insights from their work into a 10min talks. Working in multiple ‘thinking pairs’ then were able to understand how their message landed with their peers, and to ensure they stripped out over complex and unnecessary language and messaging. 121 support was also provided closer to the event, for any final preparation or concerns before their conference delivery.
The Outcomes
- All leaders successfully delivered their talks and received positive feedback from the event organisers
- Some of the more senior leaders participating commented on the personal growth and confidence of their more junior peers
- Participant feedback: “My talk went really well and really connected with the audience – apparently even made a few people shed a tear… so am super happy with the output. Just wanted to reach out and say thank you. I told the group that the entire process was extremely rewarding and fulfilling. From what i witnessed, there was a lot of progress made from day 1 to what everyone presented. Appreciate the time and path you took us on to deliver what we did.”
